Job Overview
Our client in the Mining sector is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline (NQF Level 7).
- Government Certificate of Competency (GCC factories) is compulsory.
- Minimum 6 – 8 years experience in field related to the projects, preferably in mining.
- 5 years supervisory experience.
- Registration with a relevant professional body will be advantageous.
- Experience in project site management (Mechanical, Electrical and C & I projects).
- Experience in contract management.
- Excellent knowledge of mining legislation including Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Sound knowledge of mining operations and processes.
- Project Management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Medical fitness test will be required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations into the feasibility of opportunities identified (including scoping, pre-feasibility and/ or feasibility phases) and reporting.
- Accurate project planning and design for implementation phase.
- Effective management and coordination of the project design management process.
- Project implementation management for designated projects.
- Market analysis and application of best practice and benchmarking on equipment selection.
- Provide information to enable financial forecasting, capital costing and budget execution.
- Information sharing and keeping abreast of new technology and best practices through frequent stakeholder interactions.
- Manage/Coordinate contractor activities on-site i.e., the quality of work performed on the project as well as the project progress.
- Involved in effectively managing project costs and expenditures as well as continuous reporting on project progress.
